This is the tale of 10,000 lbs. of wheat, and how it lead to a terrific cookbook called "Wheat Cookin' Made Easy," and a new business venture for two Valley girls.

It all began when Pam Crockett's husband Lonnie, had 10,000 lbs. Of wheat delivered to their home in Huntsville, Utah. Pam was overwhelmed. "What do I do with all this wheat?" she asked. She began researching, and asking friends and family for wheat recipes. Compiling all that she had learned, she decided to write a cookbook, specifically designed to help others who may also have lots of wheat, but think that it is only good for making bread.

It was around this time that she met Sandy Phelps. They immediately became friends. Sandy already had a lot of wheat cooking experience from cooking for her family. Together they began to cook and test additional recipes. Their philosophy became, "Wheat is not just for bread alone."

Their cookbook is filled with many easy, fun recipes using the whole-wheat kernel. These include yummy recipes for blender pancakes, Chinese fried wheat, sloppy Joes, and many more quick and easy recipes developed to get more wheat into your daily diet.

Their book has been very well received, and the demand for their cooking demonstrations has been overwhelming. They have taught classes from Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Sandy, Utah. They are currently preparing for presentations in California, Arizona, Oregon, and Wyoming, and New Hampshire.

The entrepreneurs' latest venture is the opening of a quaint little storefront in Ogden, Utah called Crockett's Corner Country Store. The owners say that here you can find all the latest appliances on the market for using your wheat, both electrical and manual. They offer the Whisper Mill, Dimension 2000, and the Bosch line of grinders and mixers. One of their favorite items is a manual oat roller that rolls your fresh oat groats and wheat for a delicious and nutritious cereal. It also grinds your grains into flour. It's the perfect grinder to have for daily use, as well as for food storage.

Pam and Sandy invite you to come in and see the variety of appliances and gifts on display, and to pick up a copy of their cookbook. Crockett says, "We would love the opportunity to share with you and your family all we've learned along the way."
